چکیده
This study is an attempt in exploring the feasibility of low-grade kaolinite clays, generated as waste from excavation works, supplementary cementitious materials and potential candidate for cement replacement. Clays five sources were investigated composition, pozzolanic reactivity effect on mortar strength durability. grinded calcined at 700 °C to convert into metakaolin. Thereafter, 30% by wt. was replaced with a combination clay limestone 2:1 wt ratio. The nature clays studied through thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), isothermal calorimetry (ITC) X-ray diffraction (XRD). corrosion resistance examined using electrical resistivity rapid chloride penetration tests (RCPT). Results show that marine Singapore general have low moderate content (20–40%). In ITC tests, blended mixes displayed accelerated hydration 20–30% higher heat per gram 7th day compared reference mix without any substitution. bound water calculated TGA results showed noticeable increase mixes, indicating additional products those samples. Though 10–20% decrease observed mortars samples 28-days, their remarkable improvement. charge passed during RCPT reduced 20–60% while increased 50–200% depending its properties. Overall, encouraging suggest use viable alternative replace thereby producing sustainable carbon concrete.

Permeability Studies in Marine Clays Stabilized with Lime Column
Soft marine clays are very sensitive to changes in the stress system, moisture content and system chemistry of the pore fluid. Geotechnical engineers feel a necessity to improve the behavior of these deposits using anyone of the available ground improvement techniques. In the present investigation an attempt has been made to improve the permeability of a marine clay using the lime column techni...

متن کاملWettability Contrasts in Kaolinite and Illite Clays : Characterization by Infrared and X-ray Absorption Spectroscopies
A reservoir rock is a porous geological formation in contact with two liquids : brine and oil. An improved knowledge of rock wettability is of primary importance to estimate the amount of crude oil in underground resources. The petroleum industries have observed that wettability contrasts in sedimentary reservoir rocks are largely correlated to the presence of clays (illite andlor kaolinite) in...
متن کاملAdsorption of domoic acid to marine sediments and clays.
Conditional solid-water distribution coefficients (K(d)) for the adsorption of domoic acid (DA) to a series of complex sediments and clays were determined in artificial seawater. K(d) ranged from 5.11 L g(-1) to 0.97 L g(-1), with a corresponding ranking of: kaolinite > Gulf of Mexico sediment > Santa Barbara Basin sediment > Bread and Butter Creek sediment > poorly crystallized kaolin > Ca-mon...
متن کاملFly Ash-Based Geopolymer Mortar Incorporating Bottom Ash
This paper presents the results of study on effect of various parameters on mechanical properties of fly ash-based geopolymer mortar with bottom ash as partial or full replacement for sand. Compressive strength of samples with 10% bottom ash (BA) was comparable to those with only sand. Further increase in bottom ash content decreased the compressive strength. However, the reverse tendency occur...
